Company

Based at Tamar Science Park, Eco FS are the first company to successfully ensure 100% compliance for companies governed by the Solvent Emissions Directive (SED) and REACH legislation, enforced by the European Union Council (EUC),  by using environmentally friendly solvents and membrane separation technology.  Traditionally companies in the metal working industry use harmful solvents such as trichloroethylene (trich) as a method of removing oil and dirt from the surface of a metal product, this process is known as degreasing. These solvents are highly emissive and ozone depleting as well as carcinogenic.

For over 3 years Eco FS have been developing a system that  can offer an alternative solvent coupled with service contracts or products to recycle the alternative solvent effectively and at a low capital and running cost.

Eco FS has a competitive edge due to advancements in membrane separation technology. We are able to recycle degreasing solvents very cheaply in terms of both capital expenditure and running costs, direct competitors use technology that is expensive to purchase, operate and maintain. The robust and reliable system offered by Eco FS reduces capital, running and maintenance costs.

Eco FS was formed in May 2008 in light of developments made at the UK’s largest user of the most commonly used metal cleaning solvent, trichloroethylene (Trich).

The company began trading in July 2009 and endeavours to reduce climate change and boost local economies. Products include consultation services in areas such as degreasing, drying technologies and automation of such processes. Custom made lubricants and oils involved with the manufacturing process and membrane separation filtration units. Products sold by Eco FS come with recommendations from market leaders in membrane separation technologies and chemical formulators.
